Description |
Wooden printing press supposedly made c. 1857 by young George Converse on which he may have printed the "Vermont Eagle" The press was fumigated by Historic New England in 2019 because of the intractable presence of powder post beetles. During its cleaning part of a stamp became evident indicating that at least one piece of wood had been repurposed from a wooden crate from a Boston drug store. See the second photo. See Rich Perry's photos for a better picture. |
