Bargello needlepoint wallet made for Benjamin Burton (1761-1852) and dated 1776. According to a slip that was once inside the wallet (M. Y. Butler notes) the wallet was made by his wife-to-be, Hannah Griswold (1761-1852). age 14. They were married in 1779. |
