Description |
Original photo & flyer on which it was used by Dan & Whit's. Flyer contains a reminiscence by the older Dan Fraser. Text on flyer: "Compliments of Frasers' General Store, Inc. - DBA/Dan & Whit's; Dependable Horse Power; Coming down Brigham Hill 1920-1921, Roy Hazen & son Arthur on roller. Lead team, Queen & Jeanette, weight 3000 lbs., Arthur's team. Nest, Ned & Harry, weight 3200 lbs. Pole team, Mary & Chub, 3000 lbs., Uncle Roy's teams. All lived on farm now Dr. James Strickler's property on New Boston Road. This unit worked wit the snow roller in cold winter days, and on road machine in hot summer days. As an 8 year old boy (who didn't like school) this sight of horse flesh and the sound of team bells sticks in my mind after 53 short, busy years. Dan. Picture taken by Maurice C. Aldrich, Norwich, Vt." a - Maurice Aldrich photo of snow roller b - Flyer from Dan & Whit's |
