Summary |
"Holy Bible" containing the old and new testaments. In elaborate script: "Presented to Mr. Alba Stimson as a token of esteem & gratitude by the teachers of Norwich Sabbath School, May 8, 1859. 17 people signed the book. In 1862 Stimson bequeathed this Bible to Sarah Jane Riley, an "orphan of my wife's sister at six years of age." (See the Bible for further information.) There is also a needlepoint Holy Bible bookmark. Clippings and inserts: John Dutton --"After my decease this Bible will belong to Harriet E. Metcalf."
